Detox for Success

If you want to be healthy, you have to “detox” or get rid of the toxins that are building up in your body. There are two questions that come to my mind when I think about this statement.

One question is why am I building up toxins in my body and the other is how do I detoxify?

The reason we accumulate toxins in the body is because we eat polluted foods, water and live in a toxic environment.

Wonderful! Now how do we deal with this? It is too overwhelming. Well lets cut this down to more managable pieces.

First off, we do have national environmental regulations for air, water and food. That is good. It falls short but the environment is much cleaner than it would be without these regulations.

What can you do to help yourself?

First drink filtered water. It is best if you do it yourself as not all water companies are honest. So get the best water filter system you can afford. I use Nikken system.  Also Shaklee has a good inexpensive system. If you want information on these contact me. There are others out there. You want to filter out the fluoride as that causes cancer. Drink good water.

You should be drinking a minimum of 64 ounces of water a day. To be more accurate, here is a good calculator. Take your weight in pounds and divide that in half. That is the number of ounces of water you should be drinking per day. So, if you are 150 pounds, divide that in half. That answer is 75. This person should drink 75 ounces of pure water a day. That does not include any other drinks like coffee, tea, soda pop etc. If you drink any of these drinks, you should drink extra water as the caffeine will dehydrate you. :) You can do it.

Next eat whole foods. Foods that are locally grown and organic are best. If you can’t afford all organic, do what you can. You can buy some food that is organic. Or you could have an “organic” meal a week or for a whole day. You get the gist.

Remember to chew chew chew your food. Liquify it in your mouth. You will want to chew eat bite about 40 times. There are enzymes in the mouth that will help start digestion. This is important so that you get all the nutrients from the food. Most of us take a mouthful of food, chew 4 times and down the hatch! It makes the stomach work too hard.

Also pray or bless your food. Bless everyone who has had a hand in bringing the food to you in any way. Also

Eating good whole and clean food is a great way to detox the body. If you change your food sources and get clean, whole foods, your body will detoxify itself. It will be a slower process but more easily tolerated.

Tomorrow I will talk on other ways to detox the body, what I am currently doing and why.

Blessings.
